Blys Crwydro a Gwaith
San Francisco, Taiwan, Washington DC to Dublin, Ireland - during my first two years at PDR I’ve been user researching my way across the globe. Starting as an intern in the User Centred Design team to the permanent role I am in now, the past two years have certainly been an education. I have built a portfolio of different cultural users across the world and developed an understanding of how research should be tailored towards them. The role has exceeded all expectations.
Gan deithio ar amrywiaeth o brosiectau gwahanol, o rai wedi’u hariannu gan yr UE i’r diwydiant meddygol, mae’r swydd yn parhau i gyflawni fy nyhead i ddeall defnyddwyr a chanfod eu hanghenion a’u dymuniadau. Mae gweithio ar draws adrannau gwahanol yn PDR yn golygu fy mod wedi cael fy mentora gan amrywiaeth o unigolion gwahanol wrth ddatblygu cynhyrchion newydd, Eco-ddylunio a pholisïau. Mae hyn nid yn unig wedi datblygu fy ngwybodaeth am ddylunio sy’n canolbwyntio ar ddefnyddwyr ond mae’n golygu fy mod i hefyd yn gallu cymhwyso’r dulliau ymchwil rydw i wedi’u dysgu i amrywiaeth eang o sefyllfaoedd gwahanol.
O arsylwi mewn cyd-destun, i gyfweliadau defnyddwyr i weithdai, mae teithio rhyngwladol wedi fy ngalluogi i roi’r dulliau ymchwil hyn ar waith gydag amrywiaeth eang o ddemograffeg wahanol ar draws llu o wledydd.
I have visited places I never thought I would go, for example Taiwan. Getting off the plane in the sweltering heat in Taipei. With the taxi driver then navigating his way through the hustle and bustle of the traffic. It was a place I never would have expected to go. Even when going with work, there is always the opportunity to have a bit of time to explore. This was also the case in San Francisco. Cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge, visiting MOMA, and wandering the streets for an Irish bar when the Six Nations were on - there were awesome times squeezed in between work.
Fel rhywun oedd newydd raddio, roeddwn i’n teimlo’n ofnus wrth gychwyn fy swydd newydd. Ond diflannodd yr ofnau hyn a chynyddodd yr hyder wrth i mi gychwyn gweithio ar lu o brosiectau newydd a gwahanol o’r cychwyn cyntaf. Rydw i bellach yn gweithio fel dylunydd sy’n canolbwyntio ar ddefnyddwyr, rydw i’n dysgu drwy’r amser.
